What is the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver?
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver is a globally recognized advanced diving certification, designed to enhance your diving skills and allow you to dive up to 30 meters deep.
This course offers you the opportunity to acquire new skills and explore different types of diving.
Development of the Advanced Open Water Costa Brava
The certification lasts 2 to 3 days and is divided into two blocks
Theory
The theoretical part of the course includes online modules that you can follow at your own pace.
Practice
During the course, you will complete five specialty dives
💡 Theory Phase of the Advanced Open Water
You will receive a PADI eLearning code to access the theoretical content on your phone or tablet, allowing you to study wherever you are. You will learn advanced diving techniques, such as:
- Night diving
- Underwater navigation
- Deep diving
- Wreck diving
- Search and recovery
🤿 Practical Phase - 2 mandatory courses
During the course, you will complete five specialized dives in different environments, two of which are mandatory:
- Deep diving (mandatory)
- Underwater navigation (mandatory)
🤿 Practical Phase - 3 specialties to choose from
During your PADI Advanced Open Water certification, you will be able to choose three additional specialty dives from the available options.
These dives will allow you to practice the skills learned theoretically and explore the marine depths of Costa Brava.
Duration of the Advanced Open Water Diver
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course takes place over 2 to 3 consecutive days or over several weekends, depending on your availability.
Conditions and Requirements
- Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
- Be at least 12 years old (Junior Advanced Open Water certification for ages 12-14, limited to 21 meters)
- Have a recent medical certificate (less than 2 years old)
- Have diving insurance (we can provide it if necessary)
